Organic Ethiopian Sidama
This single origin coffee hails from the southern region of Ethiopia in Sidama. Ethiopia is considered to be the birthplace of coffee. Beans from the Sidama region possess rich fruity (lemon) undertones, with a hint of berries and cane sugar. These indigenous heirloom cultivars are grown at elevations from 1700 to 1900 meters above sea level, classifying them as strictly high grown. Coffee beans grown at higher elevations take longer to mature and therefore have more time to absorb nutrients and develop flavors based on the local soil and growing conditions. We offer this variety at a medium roast where the caramelization of the sugars imparts the subtle undertones of the flavor profile.
